My musical life went parentshaped

My musical life has become something of a disaster since I had kids. I accept now I probably won’t ever keep up with what’s hot in the way I did in my NME reading teenage years. It strikes me my preferences were probably set some time ago and that I should happily continue to listen to the music I know I like. But it’s not the music itself that is the hurdle it’s the technology to keep music in my life.

I thought of this tune today by Paul Weller and I’ve been listening to it over and over on YouTube. I should go upstairs and dig out the CD really, and either invest in a new CD player or sort out putting it onto an ipod or something. Or sort out Spotify. Aghh, makes my head hurt.

Oh yes, I hear you.. what happened to listening to MY music… it is either my hubby’s strange indie music (he still has a personal interest) or the kids’ stuff.

    Sigh.

That happens to me too, my husband loves rock. Have since downloaded spotify, but I am still listening to other people’s music as I just don’t get it yet!
