Playing at being a child

This got me thinking so much. I had this exact toy as a child. It’s an exhibit at the National Trust’s Sudbury Museum of Childhood.  Going round the Museum with my Dad and children really evoked some happy childhood memories for all of us. It got my Dad and I talking about how children play differently and my children fascinated by the toys my Dad had as a child. I really recommend it as a multi generational day out.

It reminded me that while children play at being grown ups, perhaps adults need to play at being children more, role playing and make believe can make both sides understand each other more.

Do you know sometimes I think I’m playing at being grown up myself!

Love this, and think I need to make it my New Years resolution!

Sounds fun, wanna come down the park if you’re allowed out?

I'd love to know your thoughts!
