A makeover for your kitchen

Continuing the theme of Kitchen Makeover ideas, I have a guest post full of bright ideas, mainly of things I would have overlooked, especially the lighting, which I think is perfect for my kitchen makeover:

The kitchen is the most frequented and used place of the house. It is where all the cooking takes place and it is the centre of all family and social gatherings and is where some of the most precious memories are created. But, if you find that your kitchen is hard to manoeuvre, isn’t easy on the eyes or is not an enjoyable place to be, then it may be time to give it a makeover.

A kitchen makeover, if well executed, can increase the value of your home and
improve the aesthetics as well as the overall energy and flow of the home. Whether
your kitchen makeover involves a major remodel or a minor facelift, take a look at some of the appliances and accessories that will enhance your kitchen in an instant.

Bright Lighting

One of the easiest ways to reinvigorate your kitchen is with a new lighting plan. The right lighting sets the mood and can create a friendlier and more inviting space. You can replace the existing overhead fixture with a more current one like the Original BTC Cobb Ceiling Light, (pictured above) or just add more lighting with under the cabinet lighting. You can also try adding a spotlight or two to highlight artwork, prized collections and certain features in your kitchen makeover.

Replace the Sink

Nothing gives away a house’s age like an outdated and rusting sink. For a more
modern and functional approach, go for one that has a deep bowl like the Franke
Kubus undermounted sink, so that you’ll have more space.

Update the Tap

A new faucet will also greatly improve the look of your kitchen. It is one of the
most used parts of your kitchen, so you should make sure easy to use. The chrome
finish and sleek design on the Abode Fliq Professional tap will give your sink and
kitchen a more modern feel. Furthermore, the push and pull lateral valve and
extending spout make it functional.

Indulge in High End Appliances

A fully functioning dishwasher makes cleaning up easy. Plus, it’s a great way to reduce clutter, as nobody will see your dishes sitting out on the counter drying. While a stainless steel dishwasher is modern and can complement other stainless steel appliances and hardware in the kitchen, this Fisher & Paykel Integrated Single DishDrawer dishwasher blends into your cabinets seamlessly for a more cohesive look.

Splash Back

A new splash back will add texture and drama to your kitchen makeover. John Lewis offer a glass splashback to help you create a unique and colourful kitchen, available in
twelve vibrant colours to suit any style.

Add a Butcher’s Trolley

No matter how big or small your kitchen is, it can look even smaller if your
countertops are crowded. With a butcher’s trolley, you’ll gain extra storage space
and decrease the clutter on your counters. The three drawer trolley by Eddingtons
Lambourn is spacious and adds a modern touch with its stainless steel top.
