Video: Come to our Favourite Wild Wood?

It’s no secret I love trees, we like to walk in trees, appreciate the history of ancient trees, hug trees, picnic under trees and nature is a huge part of the legacy I try to pass on to my kids. I want them to appreciate the peace, the magnificence, the fun, the life and the homes for wildlife woodlands provide us with.

I am really excited to share The Woodland Trust’s #naturedetectives campaign, a family membership scheme which includes lots of lovely age specific ideas for making the most of the woodland. Kids get their own post - a nature detectives pack and if you join as a family you also get a tree dedicated to you, guides to woodlands and magazines. The Woodland Trust are a charity – so without donations they wouldn’t exist to protect our woodlands for future generations. Today I just wanted to share why I think woods are vital to protect.

I thought I would take you to our favourite wild wood, it is constantly under threat from house building and supermarkets, yet it is an amazing hill top escape from our busy suburb with incredible views over Nottingham.

Like the wood, I’m having a tough time at the moment, not feeling myself for various reasons, and this week it has just been me and Mr G, who has also been a bit grumpy that his sister is doing film club all week. So we took Max the dog to the woods to gain some headspace, and well, here’s what happened.
