We were sent some cool Lego Batman books, jam packed with activity ideas to test out. These books would be perfect for sticking in your holiday luggage, the comic book style is perfect for encouraging some holiday reading, but the best bit is the activity books are bursting with creative inspiration. We used them as a launch pad to make an animation which you can see below. I have a little book giveaway too, see below for how to enter.
Four Lego Batman Books
Sometimes all you need to bring a book to life is a friend, we loved that this book comes with a Lego mini figure, an exclusive tartan clad Batman no less. The comic book style immediately caught my son’s attention and my daughter turned the mini figure into an animation.
2. The LEGO® Batman Movie: Choose Your Super Hero Doodle Activity Book
Too often kids find a piece of plain paper daunting, especially as they get to the age the books are aimed at, 7 plus. So we loved the super imaginative doodling challenges, from drawing Batman at his decks, hosting a party in the bat cave, to finalising the features on an outline of the batmobile – this is a lovely way to encourage and scaffold imagination.
3. The LEGO® Batman Movie: Ready, Steady, Stick!
Sticker books are always a winner on holiday, especially with Batman’s younger fans, this one is jam packed, you can stick the stickers on the scene pages within the book or why not use them in the Journal or Activity book?
4. The LEGO® Batman Movie: I Am Batman! The Dark Knight’s Activity Journal
This is a fab book you can scribble all over while learning loads about creating comics. There is space to sketch your own endings to the comic strips in the Journal. You can work on super hero drawing skills by designing new villains, creating Batman and Robin selfies and designing a new outfit for Batgirl. There are pages to work on plot too, with ideas for defeating the Joker. But the best bit is the final pages which give children a chance to set their own super hero life goals alongside Batman’s.
These are fun books to inspire kids to get stuck in and get creative, which makes them perfect for holidays. Animation (we used the Stikbot app) is another activity that travels light, and is made all the more fun by new holiday surroundings. Watch how the books and the final animation combined in action!
