Always love getting parcels from Baker Ross, always leads to tea, biscuits and a day of happy crafting, (and Mr A complaining about the state of the kitchen, then patiently tidying up after us). I have just about forgiven Max for eating the Blue Tit….
We spent a happy Saturday afternoon making these decoupage bird boxes for my Dad who taught us all we know about bird watching. they were a nice little addition to his 70th birthday celebrations. The boxes are 4 for £2.99 from Baker Ross, and we used a bird book and tissue paper to make some of our favourite garden birds.
L started with a bird of her own design, just collaging any old colour using Decoupatch glue which is both a glue and a varnish, so easy peasy to use, this approach would be perfect for younger kids.
Not sure this is a ‘common bird to spot’, but it is a colourful one!
When she saw me attempt a blue tit, she decided she wanted to do a Robin, she is 8 and cracked on with no help from me. I think you will agree it is really sweet. Dad loved it.
I found doing this blue tit so therapeutic. I’ve not forgiven Max the dog for chewing it up, but at least I took a picture so Dad can see the thought was there.
Tweet aren’t they 😉 Dad thought so! Lots more about his amazing 70th celebrations in a thatched barn in Kent here.
WOW - I love this idea. I love the whole decoupage thing but I have never actually done it. I know I wouldnt stop once I start though. 🙂
The blue tit looks brilliant! To be fair, so is the robin! 🙂 x
